Men and women are equal in all fields, people say, and i agree. So it’s a good move to increase exemption for men ONLY. The difference of 10K would also vanish when DTC comes in next year! Good move.

smart move,
by providing some relief to the farmers which will help reduce the shooting prices of food. inflation is being dealt with. eliminating corruption is also a long term goal as said by mr pranab mukherje, how i wish he had a more immediate plan to resolve the later.

There is possibly no mention on government expenditure in the name of security of men clad in white!!! clothes and white ambassadors, the so called rulers of post independence era.

@RohanSavemytax I agree. There is no need of different tax exemptions for men and women today when women are entitled for same salaries and compete with men for same work. But I think to do away with this practice, which has been followed consistently in every budget, will reduce a large vote bank of any party.

I dont understand the logic behind two different tax exemptions for men and women? Does that mean that men work less for the same number of hours? Can someone please enlighten??

It seems a goldilocks budget for the middle class..lukewarm…but seems good for the farmers in the short run with subsidy on interest. But nothing new on black money…he seems to be saying we are already doing enough.
