Comments on: Punish the bankers, not the banks Wed, 16 Nov 2016 01:37:11 +0000 hourly 1 By: AlgarvianMan Sat, 30 Jun 2012 14:34:47 +0000 They also manipulated the Euribor on which my mortgage and millions of others are based in Europe. It beggars belief that Mr Diamond had no knowledge of the rogue traders within his bank especially when he would have taken a keen interest in the daily profit and loss trading of Barclays dealers as would all the other CEO’s of the Banks involved. It is a CEO’s job to know what goes on in the Bank, or any company for tha matter, on a daily basis so Laurence is very succinct when he says,”It is amazing how bank CEO’s are able to point to the profits generated by their traders to justify their bonuses, yet disclaim responsibility as soon as it suits them.” The final comment made by Laurence , “It is time to stop punishing the banks and start punishing the bankers”, is one we should all take note of. Next time you walk into your Bank spare a thought for the staff working behind the counter because they take the brunt of the publics reaction to the likes of Diamond and Co.
