Using expensive drugs to prolong life for 4 months is not really cost-effective, but the fact that the patients may suffer more pain if they live 4 months longer.
It's great to search for better drugs to prolong life, as long as the patients can live meaningful. There is no point in prolonging life so that patients suffer longer.
I think it's time to search for drugs from common food, so that the cost of manufacturing could be less.
