Europeans always mock Americans for idiot bureaucrats we elect and our unwavering religious beliefs, but Europeans stance against GMO's shows me that it's humankind that's stupid.

What condescending, patronizing and generalized bowl dust. Alexander Solzhenitsyn, my favorite Russian dissident, again from memory, in his 1974 Nobel Prize (for Peace) speech allured that people will eventually be forced to migrate back to Africa. I don’t think he meant that they should arrive in modified form. Zimbabwe apparently has a strict policy on this. As Einstein said, ‘God doesn’t play dice with the Universe’. GM is like nuclear energy:- you fiddle with Nature, you end up with a mess. Let natural selection take its course.

The fear of genetically modified crops is well founded.

But oil prices, overpopulation and climate change are all going to increase the prices of food. And soon, those who wish to eat in Africa will have little choice in what they eat. Assuming there is food for them to eat at all.

GM crops will provide a potential solution to an incoming starvation problem so large, it will make the previous years in Africa a pleasant memory. When the only practical alternative is starvation, GM crops will be accepted by the African population.

If the fears of GM crops are so important, they should be removed by further study.

Otherwise, these theoretical fears will eventually give way to real fears in Africa. The fears of mass wars, famines, diseases and death.

Suggesting GMOs as an important part of the solution just cant be the sustainable solution...Suggesting this can be considered a treason to the human kind...
