Obama is featured in a movie exposing greedy hedge funds and market manipulation called “Stock Shock.” Even though the movie mostly focuses on Sirius XM stock being naked short sold to hell, I liked tit because it gives the average guy a better understanding of the dark side of Wall Street. It seems to me Paul Volcker hasn’t a big say in the Economic Council. Whithin that circle, Summers and Giethner were playing the big roles.The big banks want no regulations at all, and will fight back with their powerful interest groups again. Thanks to the Supreme Court decision that allows them to pour $$ into campaigns. This year’s mid-term election would be an interesting one!

I don’t think white America is ready for a black leader. Even a black leader with good ideas.
The people of Mass have proven how impatient they are with their black president.
What did they expect him to do being in office only a year?
Instead Mass voters prefer inexperience as long as it’s white.
It’s like watching the Boston Celtics of the past playing in the modern NBA. Bunch of old white stiffs pretending their good at something.

America was better off under Bush, at least the utter foolishness coming out of the white house could have been blamed on Bush.
Turns out all the foolishness was just a reflection of the american peoples attitude.

That’s right the Feds know exactly how to make a business successful and immune to failure….I mean their entity ONLY ran a 12 TRILLION dollar deficit last year. Obviously those who run government (of EITHER party) definitely have the best interests of the american sheeple at heart and will do whatever’s necessary to line their pockets!!

Great article. I’m rooting for Obama. But Obama’s habit of everywhere looking for consensus may be the biggest obstacle here.

The bankers and their lobbyists don’t play a nice game. I can easily see this getting watered down, and watered down, and watered down, while Obama is trying to “get them on board”.

The only way Obama can fight the banks is with bare knuckles, like Teddy Roosevelt against the trusts.

What we need is a law to punish congress and national, state and local administrations for excessive risk taking in our economy. Presently the inmates run the institution while pontificating and breaking their own rules.

Now here is the beauty of democracy. When even a popular leader like Barack Obama knows his policies aren’t working he reverses course and doesn’t lose face for doing so. Hugo Rafael Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad can’t do so because they will see it as weakness rather than serving their peoples’ interest. Give me democracy any day!

Sending a message to the White House would look better as a petition (i.e. this petition shows how many Democrats are going to not vote in Mass). Sending a message of “Yes we’ll let seats go to people who don’t even remotely represent us if we feel you’re not representing us” is pretty short-sighted and will only compound the challenges of true reform.
