Mortgage payments should be next to nothing with such low rates, with the added tax break, so people can’t service other expenses, i.e. credit card repayments etc.

I work for http://storyburn.com and I see the angst among Americans over getting kicked out of their homes and jobs. These problems would be a lot worse if banks were lending at rates three percentage points higher. Obama needs to get a clue and focus solely on stimulating companies of all sizes to expand their job base
