While I agree with the idea that we should not execute KSM it has nothing to do with being “civilized” or “showing mercy in the face of profound provocation”. If you believe that showing mercy will be seen as anything other than impotence, political correctness and weakness by the people KSM stands for and represents, then you do not understand the way they think. Not even a little bit.

KSM should be made to live out his life in solitary confinement in one of the Super Max facilities and not be put to death for one reason and one reason only – because it’s the most suitable punishment for the heinous acts he has perpetrated.

There’s a lot of useless, handwringing bs in this piece.

I favor locking him up in solitary and throwing away the key for the simple reason that life w/o parole in solitary in a supermax is worse than death.

This is especially true for a religious nut that believes he’s going to paradise and wants to be a martyr.
