I live near Empire Mine in Michigan and they emit some pretty nasty exhaust from the smoke stacks at night. The ground here has a red cast to it.

If each of us cuts our carbon emissions by 50% (a near impossibility), but we double our population (as we are projected to do), what have we gained? Nothing. Our total carbon emissions will be exactly the same. It astounds me that the president can’t connect the dots between rampant population growth and problems like climate change and unemployment.

Any time anybody wants to do anything that costs any corporation any money, the House Republicans/Tea Party start screaming about how it will “destroy jobs.” Can’t they say ANY thing else besides that? Wait, I forgot, they can: “Impeach Obama!”
