There should be two types of institutions – banks, who are banned from all derivative use and financial speculation firms who are completely unregulated. The problem comes in when public money (banks) is allowed to be used in speculation (being derivatives main purpose). This article tells paints some misleading pictures – like ‘speculation will go offshore’ – so what? Speculation is bad – it simply skims profits off of proper investors returns. The so called ‘liquidity’ they bring is also lies – the rats always leave a sinking ship first.
