It can’t be a good development that the ME is now home to permanent civil wars and they aren’t likely to leave everyone else untouched.

Too many political parties debating too many points, and yielding on few, could be something like a disease that saps the energy of the electorate while creating few points of long term or stable agreement. Too many political positions at one time could easy weary voters. Modern life already does not encourage a long concentration span and the political process could become a frantic babble of competing but very short lived initiatives that ultimately discredits popular participation altogether.

It’s wonderful the UK has a NUMBER of parties that truly represent different constituencies. They are lucky Labour and the Tories did not entrench themselves into a dysfunctional two-party system like we have in the U.S.
