The Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” recently published an interesting article with a similar name. We have not taken this article seriously, if not for the events associated with a group of women who desecrated a Christian church in Moscow. The so-called Pussy Riot has become a tool of foreign policy pressure on Russia in general, and President Vladimir Putin in particular, “- writes online” Yerkramas “Arayik Sargsyan, Academician, Vice-President of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems, Russia. http://ruskline.ru/news_rl/2012/08/30/ar aik_sargsyan_putin_ne_ustraivaet_mossad/

So writing “Israel’s interests vis-à-vis Russia run wide and deep and are impossible for Jerusalem to ignore.” is just plain wrong.

You just need to follow Josh Cohen’s articles for the last year at least or longer to see his spin. It’s quite interesting to observe “the narrative” he has been pushing. The Jewish community in Ukraine certainly doesn’t agree with Cohen’s very sunny view of Putin, as they have paid with their lives and property through the destruction wrought by Putin and his proxies in eastern Ukraine. But hey, Putin donated to a museum in Moscow and all is hunky-dory. And Israel has “assurances” from Moscow about the weapons systems to Iran and Syria. Isn’t that reassuring? And “With the Russian Bear now firmly ensconced on its northern border, expect Israel’s leaders to continue paying close attention to the man in the Kremlin.” As if the Russian Bear hasn’t been there for decades, providing all sorts of lovely armaments. But Netanyahu and crowd are alienated from the Obama Administration and also feeling very frisky so why not play footsie with the Kremlin. I mean, really, what could go wrong?

The problem number 0 to be dealt with now, is to end/transform regimes perpetuating the worst anti-human behaviors, such as chopping heads in public. Here Russia’s, Israel’s, Iran’s, and general humanistic interests all coincide.
