Because LEGAL RIGHTS and LEGAL PROTECTIONS are the ONLY THINGS that separate us from the backwards World where religions still reign — Sharia Law for example —
This is very scary.
you want to become like the violent backwards hellholes of Middle East and Africa? Merkel has taken a HUGE STEP . She should resign immediately.

Where is the news?

And as far as “bravery” – if you really think the comedian is hiding out simply because he is worried about a fine you should take a moment to google “Theo van Gogh”. The fact is that he HAS put himself on the line to keep the Turkish attack on freedom of speech from coming to Germany.

Personally, if I were working on the legal defense for Boehmermann I would call as witnesses a list of journalists recently killed by Erdogan’s government.

I suppose suppressing press and free speech freedoms in Turkey was not enough for him.

He is the one bringing shame to turkey, not some obscure comedian.

This journo is particularly craven in bowing and scraping before the tyrant. No apologies for free speech! The problem originates with Erdogan

Chancellor Merkel has gone along with every step like a willing 15 year old girl infatuated by the school bully.

Don’t defend Erdogan for the sake of political correctness
