Reactors are not particularly vulnerable, and referencing Chernobyl is irresponsible. After all, there are no western systems with the same horrifyingly bad design. Defending against truck bombs is quite easy to do (you just need space.) Drones and RPGs are also quite simple to defeat. So where’s the meat?

Much more of a threat is dirty bombs using medical materials.

However, profits over everything. The Media coverage of Fukushima is non existent and not addressing this meltdown and ignoring what could happen in the U.S.,a grave mistake. A meltdown not happening in the states so far Is just pure luck. Nuclear is just plain dangerous, and the plants should have a fail safe method to stop a melt down at all costs. It’s no surprise the world health organizations are predicting 70 percent future cancer rates in the coming years, due to the amount of radiation being released into the environment. We don’t need to worry about terrorists as much as greedy companies pushing the extension of plant permits having them fail prior to retirement ,all in the name of profits. So sad for future generations.

Because super-national bodies have such a great track record for organisational competence and probity?
