In 1789, to protect a nascent American industrial base from British factories, George Washington and Alexander Hamilton created the first American protective tariff. It greatly benefited America and the American worker, and was in effect for 200 years, as America grew into the mightiest industrial power the world had ever seen.

It was the WTO (World Trade Organization), created by the wealthy multi-national corporations that began to spend large sums of money to vilify the American historical protective tariff. So now the most ignorant person on the street, with factories closing all around him, his career and family destroyed, still follows his brainwashing by the WTO propaganda. “Protective tariffs? They are, erh, um, bad!”

In fact, the American protective tariff, from 1789 to 1989, is what enabled America to grow into the mightiest industrial power on Earth.

Protective tariffs also helped European economies protect themselves, too.

The WTO is a master propaganda machine, while America and Europe watch themselves today being utterly destroyed.
