Quota has not made a difference in 60+ years. It is widely misused.
Unless quota is reduced progressively it is unjustified.
Quota is meaningless if we cannot provide equal sholl education for all.
India is a starnge country indeed. We read in the news that most families spend a lot on education, even more than food. We have RTE because a lot of yougsters do not get education. Government is able to spend a lot on almost all other items but not education.

If quotas keep cut offs high and the number of seats in Open category get reduced to just 10-12% (visit – http://tinyurl.com/69j7tvc) , there will be people who will want to break the rules and forge caste certificates. Yes, what they did is wrong but would you blame them fully for doing that? Why blame IIT which is trying to help students catch up in name of distinction between students when it begins very early in everyone’s life and they are getting advantage over many others for no fault of theirs.

What bullsh*t this is….u r ready to get benefits for caste and at the time of getting admission u dont say ohhh “i am being distinguished on basis of caste” and when IIT says lets bring these chaps at par with others and lets have programme for that at NO extra cost then SC/ST people scrib about it. What rubbish this is…
