What about lies and malicious statements? Those remain within Google’s indexes as well – and Google is similarly reluctant to remove those. Perhaps the right for Google to regurgitate defamatory lies is more important to silicon valley apologists than the inconvenience of asking the world’s premier indexing outfit to alter its procedures in any way.

I believe that ALL reference to me, my name, my history, and my personal life should remain personal. The very definition of “personal” supports my position.. If a patient comes in a doctors office, sees the full name of s nurse on her name tag, decides this is kissmet and goes home and looks her life up on the Internet. . .really. If she wanted him to know her marital status, address, telephone, age, high school, and choice of personal activities, she would have told him.

I think this is a very important decision by the EU and the entire world should follow their lead. The ability should even go further. If I don’t want to come up on any search results I should have that right. I am not a commodity for corporate use.
I grew up in a very small town and your opinion of privacy in one is ridiculous. This isn’t the 1800’s you know.
