Striking a blow for Goliath again, Jim? How in hell a hollow victory for the monolith of mediocrity could possibly represent Freedom© is an excursion into Newspeak as craven as it is unworthy of serious consideration.

It appears to take more mental effort than your average tea-partying Yahoo can summon up to comprehend the first thing about net neutrality, whereby individual communication freely prevails without constraint of corrupt court-facilitated corporate excuse-makers. Comcast violates this principle.

Just remember what happened to Goliath in the end. That is what's in store for Comcast - and all who fail with it.

Why not just put meters on bandwidth like the electric companies and charge users for kbs used, instead of access?

Comcast's issue, as I understand it, was a Bit Torrent app hogging too much bandwidth. FCC has no authority to tell Comcast how to mange its bandwidth. Comcast has a profit motive to mange it reasonably. If they don't they will lose business and someone else will buy the wires and routers. Good decision for liberty and the free market. Google and Yahoo will just have to be responsible about distributing free apps that use reasonable amounts of bandwidth. I'm sure they can pull it off.

Great ruling and great post! You’re right about the possible pricing options. That’s the sort of trial-and-error approach markets excel at, and top-down controls stifle.
