See her article about the 'abandoned' middle class. This whole overarching negativity echoes the 1970s and brings to mind Jimmy Carter's speech about the American 'malaise'. Times were perilous back then too - not that most readers of this site under 45 would know that, or care - but America tossed out Mr. Carter and the Democrats, embraced Ronald Reagan and did what needed to be done. Businesses don't need their taxes reduced by 50%: businesses need their taxes RAISED by 30% and businesses that pay no net income tax should be taxed based on their revenues. For example GE should pay several billion dollars a year in taxes. It's time to make the millionaires and businesses responsible for all the advantages they are bleeding out of our country. Right now the republican owned businesses in this country are sabotaging the economic recovery in an attempt to unseat Barack Obama in 2012. They are deliberately refusing to hire new employees and they are living off the profits they squeezed out of our citizens in past years. The republicans are un-American.
