Is Kim Jong-il really ill ? To him, nuke is a weapon
of self-destruction, as he has no capability to launch it outside Korean peninsula. Once Kim fires it up to
the sky, it will fall right back onto his head.

Military strike is for all intents and purposes impossible: the talk among the right-wingers is for domestic consumption. Any military strike will pose difficulties for Japan in international diplomacy, and the risk of a general war thus caused in the Korean Penninsula is too high. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that a pre-emptive strike can remove all threats, but it will definitely provoke an attack from North Korea. I doubt that Japan is ready for a number of missilies landing in large cities.

China may come around to the idea that a unified Korea with American presence is far better than the supposedly friendly but erratic regime that is North Korea. After all, North Korea's nuclear arsenal marks its independence from China's tutelage, as much as making it an equal (in North Korean eyes) to America.

What is this regime doing? Are they trying to provoke Japan into starting an arms race. Its time for China to act and use its power to defuse this threat.
