Amidst the largest financial crisis since the Great Depression, President George W. Bush and the G7 finance ministers meet to discuss the group’s plan of action.

As the leaders depart the White House, Bush gently taps France’s Finance Minister Christine Lagarde on the back.

A far cry from the shoulder massage he gave German Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2006.

Bush must have been feeling especially chivalrous.

As the ministers left the White House, a chauffeured car was waiting for Lagarde. The others walked.
