What’s China gonna do? Forget about it. What’s Yellen gonna do?

October 30, 2015

By now, you’ve probably heard this catchy song about China’s five-year plan on Youtube. If not, take a listen.

I heard it for the first time on the train Wednesday, as I headed into work, a few hours before the Fed wrapped up its policy-setting meeting (for the story on what the Fed did, which was both nothing and a lot at the same time).

Lately it’s been hard to figure out where the Fed is going next, what with the leadership talking at what seems to be at cross- purposes.¬†This week’s statement helped focus markets on the December meeting. But you have to wonder, as one wonders about China, how do they make all the plans? And who do you listen to?¬†Here’s one take. Apologies in advance for the short clip (I couldn’t figure out how to upload anything longer) for the lack of accompaniment (I didn’t bring my ukulele today) and mostly to those responsible for the China Five Year plan song that was the inspiration.
