The Magazine Publishers of America is urging readers to recycle their magazines, according to a press release out on Tuesday.
“Some of our readers don’t realize that magazines are recyclable,” said the association’s chief executive, Nina Link. “But starting today, our message is clear: Magazines can be recycled. And it’s our job to alert our readers to that fact.”
The alert will come in the form of logos that will appear on magazines starting later this year. The first: “Please Recycle This Magazine.” The second: “Please Remove Samples or Inserts Before Recycling.”
Here’s another idea: read the magazine online. In fact, some publishers have made that the only option.
