Facebook founder speaks … Well, kind of

zuckerberg1.jpgFacebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is hands down the most talked-about man at this week’s Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco.

Whether it’s the stories that Facebook is now being valued as high as $15 billion or it’s talk of a possible investment from Microsoft or it’s the wave of applications being written for Facebook, the conference is abuzz about the hottest unclaimed property on the Internet.

Yet, when it was Facebook’s wunderkind founder’s turn to talk, the 23-year-old Harvard dropout took the stage in a zip-up hoodie, jeans and sandals and said … nothing. Well, not nothing, but he gracefully avoided making any news despite host John Battelle’s best efforts. Here are a sample of his answers.

To the question of if Facebook would be selling itself short with a $15 billion valuation:

“We’ll see.”

To the question of how Facebook’s latest round of capital raising is going:

“It’s going well. We’re almost done.”

Which fund raising he didn’t specify.

To the question of what Facebook’s relationship with Microsoft is like these days:

“I think we’re both happy.”

To the question of how much time he spends thinking about financing or an IPO:

“None.”

One comment so far

To be honest, he sounds cocky but come across as little cocky - though he has still not revealed his next step - IPO, Microsoft, VC or get bust — keep guessing!
