Who doesn’t love it when media moguls get a platform to talk? Just give Rupert Murdoch, Barry Diller, Ted Turner or Bob Johnson a stage and a mic, and let the good times roll. Today, it’s Sumner Redstone, top dog at Viacom, as he keynotes the “Media and Money” conference in New York.Redstone speaks at the 10th Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills

The 84-year-old mogul is riding a high after Viacom last week posted an 80-percent rise in quarterly profits. He takes the stage on Thursday to discuss topics near and dear — why content is king, why he is King, and why Kings need to be paid.

Redstone watching not your idea of fun? Well then keep an eye on Walt Disney’s earnings report, due later today, where the company could also shed some light on the efffects of the Hollywood writers’s strike, which has forced TV studios to halt work on at least seven prime-time sitcoms (by Wednesday).
