Think the world’s biggest router maker’s marketing campaign — with Tibetan monks gathered around a laptop, or the break-dancing kid — is confusing? Then their latest message on its homepage won’t help matters much.
Cisco’s latest marketing campaign talks about “network uber-users” and features a cast of characters in strange costumes, including a fat man in a tutu carrying an arrow (named Cupid, the “infatuation specialist”). We’re not quite sure what it’s about and Cisco refuses to divulge details until it launches on March 4th. A spokesman apologizes for being “cryptic and uninformative”.
