I read an article a few months ago that showed that economically, the New York Times could save money by buying every subscriber a Kindle and distributing the newspaper exclusively via Kindle. (3 out of 4 forests would appreciate such a move as well!). Truth is, no more than about 20% of the US Population is mentally ready to ditch paper forever, but I strongly predict our great grandkids are going to wonder why we were so enamored with wood pulp.

I get two of my favourite magazines delivered online and its great for the environment as well.
