Success, along with perfection, failure, and everything else we attempt to define as humans, is subjective; nothing more and nothing less. Who are you to define success and what to measure it by? We are, being human beings, all flawed, are we not? A fair and objective position aiming for equality is not biased in either direction, of which clearly yours is. Role models are role models, individuals are individuals. Girls are not better people just as boys are not worse people. We are all individuals and until we are judged by our merits regardless of sex, race, nationality, income, or occupation there is still a very long way to go.

John,

This has nothing to do with some fictitious ‘Glass Ceiling’, but rather, Basic Biology. Why do you think all the geniuses throughout history: Da Vinci, Newton, Einstein, Edison, Feynman, Gates & Jobs etc. were all males? The very same reason that most of the famous sociopaths throughout history: Manson, Bundy, Ramirez, Dahmer etc. were all males. Which sex commits, by far, the majority of all violent crimes around the world? Biology John; biology. You should not be writing of a topic about which, you are clearly ignorant?
Nice try pandering to women, though. You are definitely an ‘Omega Male.’ Women are attracted to ‘Alpha Males’, such as Steve Jobs.

So Michelangelo, the Wright brothers, Edison, MLK... etc are no longer or should no longer be an inspiration for women? Why would you limit the creativity, imagination, and potential skill of one that sees, in a certain man, the ideal - artist, inventor, freedom-fighter?
Although well-meaning, its bigoted and limits the freedom of thought and movement WOMEN have and can enjoy TODAY. I say: let them choose who they are inspired by (regardless of sex).

John C Abell writes: "Women should neither want nor need male role models in business, or in anything."

That's right, wimp. Attempt to create even further enmity between men and women. You're a sick puppy.

.....funny thing, as we have prompted women to exercise their 'masculine' sides, we all seem surprised when they do the ugly things men do........aggression, lack of compassion, winner take all, cheating.

......yet, I gotta say, I don't buy it......when you get the look 'but, I'm a woman'

not anymore.
