JP Morgan Russia head to retire, deputy steps up
MOSCOW, April 26 (Reuters) – JP Morgan’s Russia head
Jeff Costello is to retire and deputy CEO and head of
investment banking, Yan Tavrovsky, will replace him, the bank
said on Thursday.
Tavrovsky rejoined JP Morgan in 2010 from Morgan Stanley
. He had previously worked at JP Morgan in Moscow and
London from 2000 to 2005.
Eni and Rosneft team up in Russian Arctic
MOSCOW (Reuters) – Rosneft (ROSN.MM: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and Eni (ENI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) signed an agreement on Wednesday in the presence of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to jointly tap fields in Russia’s Barents and Black Sea zones, in Rosneft’s second Arctic deal in two weeks.
The deal may not yield commercial oil production for years, but for Eni it secures a foothold in an untapped and strategically important new province, and for Russia, it brings in the capital needed for long-term projects to keep its oil flowing.

Eni starts gas production in western Siberia
SAMBURG FIELD, Russia, April 20 (Reuters) – Italy’s oil and
gas major Eni and its partners have started gas
production at the Samburg field in Russia’s western Siberia as
the group aims to boost its clout in the largest natural gas
producing region in the world.
The initial gas and liquids output of the Samburg field,
operated by Severenergia, is seen at 43,000 barrels of oil
equivalent per day (boepd), with Eni’s share at 14,000 boepd.

Rosneft will gain access to hard-to-recover
hydrocarbon resources in North America in exchange for access to
Russia’s Arctic offshore when it finalises a joint venture deal
with ExxonMobil on Monday, industry sources said on
Friday.
Russia’s oil tsar, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin, will
present the project to analysts with the head of ExxonMobil, Rex
Tillerson, and the head of Rosneft, Eduard Khudainatov, on
Wednesday in New York, according to a copy of the invitation.
