A maturing market amid the mayhem

BSE Realty Index gains

The BSE Realty Index ended 2.9 percent higher on Wednesday in a broader market that gained over 200 points on positive economic data.

Shares in top realty firms Unitech and DLF ended 3.2 and 2.5 percent higher respectively.

Other firms which pushed the index up were Sobha Developers (up 5.3 percent), Indiabulls Real Estate (up 3.7 percent) and HDIL (up 2.7 percent).

The realty index has disappointed so far this year, registering a negative return of over 10 percent, while shares like DLF and Unitech have a negative return of over 14 percent and 2 percent respectively.
