Sally Krawcheck in August of 2007 spoke on Smith Barney's internal squack box to all the Financial Consultants in the firm with Citibank's Treasurer to assure all the FCs that the balance sheet and financial health of Citibank was absolutely solid.

In July 2007 the financial press had been questioning the off-balance sheet items on Citibank's balance sheet and the risks they posed to its financial future. Sally completed dismissed these issues and said that there was no issue or risk.

Within 12 months the truth of Citibank's near bankruptcy hit the markets and destroyed the financial future of 100s of Citibank employees whose life savings were in its stock. However, dear Sally and her precious ally Sandy Weill were able to walk away with millions after the crash.

Sally is a media creation. She knows nothing about honesty, financial health. She only knows how to keep a two-tinted hair coif perfectly in place. That is not the makings of an SEC chairman.

By this logic, Greg Medcraft, formerly Global Head of Securitisation for Societe Generale from 2004-2006, is an unsuitable candidate to head up ASIC, Australia's equivalent of the SEC, correct?

OOOPS!! http://www.asic.gov.au/asic/asic.nsf/byheadline/asic%20senior%20executives

ps we agree with Ms. Long's point
