Models
This picture is very noteworthy for me. I have been working on analytical models of airplane boarding for a while. In the simplest model, one assumes that passengers are infinitely thin and can walk quickly one after the other along a narrow aisle (the airplane’s aisle). Thinking of this as a job description I called it this particular model, the supermodel. It all seems unrealistic till I noticed this picture yesterday! Airplane boarding can be described by space-time geometry as in relativity theory, the supermodel corresponds in this case to empty space with no gravity. Normal sized people and airplane boarding policies curve the space-time. I would like permission to use this picture for academic presentations, how do I get such permission. I also understand there are 6 more pictures, where can I find them.
