A federal judge has tossed out a lawsuit by a Florida man against the company behind the Atkins low-carb diet. The suit had alleged that the diet caused the guy’s cholesterol to skyrocket.
The man, who admitted eating mainly pastrami and cheesecake, was unhappy at seeing his cholesterol shoot from 146 to 230 after just a couple of months on the diet.
So the lawsuit was a failure, but there may be a marketing opportunity here. “The Pastrami and Cheesecake Miracle Diet,” for people who suffer from low cholesterol? There’s a fortune to be made.
