The truth is out there…okay, no it isn’t…

January 2, 2007

A 15-year-old high school kid has defeated hundreds of competitors from more than a dozen states to become “The World Champion Liar.” This happened in Wisconsin, where they’ve been holding this competition for more than 70 years – or so they say.

The talented youth, James Wilberg, won with the following: “There are only three kinds of people. Those who can do math, and those who can’t.”

The head of the local Liars Club, which holds the annual event, said Wilberg would win a $2 million college scholarship and worldwide recognition, but of course that’s a lie, too. The kid gets a parchment certificate. The honor will look good on his college resume, too. Here’s the story courtesy of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel online: liar.jpg
