Frankly, this looks like one of those movie remakes that just wasn’t necessary. We all saw the original Ghostbusters, with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man rampaging through New York’s Upper West Side, and frankly this low-budget Chinese version, set amid an ice festival, seems lame by comparison… Or maybe that isn’t what’s happening here at all. Hi Jason Lee,
This is not a cheap remake of the Ghostbusters legendary Marshmallow Man but looks like the Carnival Man, as we call him in Quebec : “Le Bonhomme Carnaval”.
He is the mascot of a winter carnival in Quebec City, in Canada. Except, he usually wear his belt around his waist and not on his neck; but maybe he was cold or drunk with “Caribou”! (a local hot and spicy strong red wine)
The carnival is well known for its international snow carving contest : see http://www.carnaval.qc.ca
But none of this is as funny as the return of the Marshmallow Man!
