I plan to go to Europe, but I’d like to visit some places that aren’t wall-to-wall tourists. Any suggestions?

Well, Traveling Gal, two words for you: Crazy Guides. This Polish tour company shows visitors “the communist way of life,” which pretty much means you don’t have to worry about getting on a waiting list. 

Among the highlights? Pose for happy snaps at a town’s former power station! Ride around in an East German Travant! With attractions like those, no need to worry about mob scenes. Or fun, for that matter. Joanna Partridge report for Oddly Enough:

And here I had thought that “Trabant” was just the German translation of “AMC Gremlin”.
