No, thanks. No matter how many exclamation marks you put beside it, an invitation like this just isn’t too enticing.
Some folks in Lithuania are offering a visit to Hannibal Lecter’s home as described in the novel and movie, Hannibal Rising. For $131 you get to tour the capital and visit a nearby estate for a “Hannibal feast” and a meeting with “Lecter.”
“We hope to attract tourists who would be interested in visiting Lecter’s native land,” a tourism official says.
And if it’s a runaway success? I’m betting the Lithuanians haven’t thought about what else they will do to entertain hordes of visitors who would make a trip just to see the home of a fictional cannibal. Lock up the fava beans, boys! Here’s the story:
