News, but not the serious kind

You know, good health can be overrated…

Regular readers know this blog has basic themes: dimwitted criminals, hideous fashions, questionable career advice, cute animals, and above all, things some people eat that I wouldn’t touch for a million dollars.

That brings me to Jiang Musheng. Many years ago had a cough and abdominal pains. Some old coot suggested he should try eating live tree frogs, so he did, and a month later he was “cured.” Now he eats live frogs, mice and baby rats all the time, and he credits that diet with keeping him healthy and strong.

Right. You know, I keep wondering if there’s any advice he would have rejected if he didn’t reject this. I also like to think that old guy who suggested live tree frogs just had a really, really good sense of humor, and enjoyed many happy years of watching Jiang push squirming things past his gums. Here’s the story:

You sure this guy’s name isn’t really “Mikey?”

Asked if he wanted his meal cooked rare, medium, or well, Jiang replied, “Still hopping.”

Maybe it’s not so bad. You know, a little bit of pepper a little bit of chili powder and BAM!

See, we have found a cure for the common cold!

People have been trying to get this right for years. In fact, experimenting with different types of raw frogs and toads to cure illness is what inspired the Dumbo segment “Pink Elephants on Parade.”

And all of the Mario videogames.

Beats that old woman who swallowed a fly. At least we know why he swallowed the frog.

I’m glad an expert zoologist posted because I always thought frog guts would be great looking. Thanks for the scientific info.

By the way, frogs can’t be kept on a “veg diet”. They eat bugs, genius.
