It’s always good to watch the trend toward better eating. In Germany, they are introducing new breaded pork schnitzels you can make in your toaster. Because, as the folks that developed them point out, “Who has time to go to the trouble of frying something themselves?” Well, exactly.
In singing the virtues of these treats, a company spokesman came up with what I think should be their ad slogan: “The schnitzels don’t ooze grease or burn when you put them in the toaster.” Who could ask for anything more?

I’m glad they add two whole half-slices of tomato to the “schnitzel” they “cooked” in the toaster. Everybody needs their vegetables, after all.
