Did he say hootenanny, or shootenanny?

Time again for our popular feature, Things Maybe We Should Have Mentioned in a Photo Caption, but Didn’t. Our caption says these dudes are an “Algerian folk music team,” yet I can’t help noticing their only instruments are rifles. Not even a tiny mandolin in sight.

This is not the sort of folk music I grew up with, and to me they look as much like folkies as the guys who did the Saint Valentine’s Day massacre looked like florists. Sure, these musicians are unplugged, but the same may not be true of their audience.

If you have tickets to this concert, here’s my advice: if they introduce “Duelin Banjos” - or duelin’ anything - get the hell out of there.
