Just an optical delusion?

binoculars-160.jpgSoccer fans were baffled on Saturday when a popular athlete insisted on playing an entire match while looking through ”magic binoculars.”

“It’s amazing! Raul looks like he’s only four feet away!” said Lisandro Lopez, as he stood about four feet from teammate Raul Meireles.

The behavior grew more bizarre when Lopez accused a player of trying to strangle him with the “strap” on his binoculars, and then called a time out to carefully ”clean” his lenses.

Some observers say Lopez is negotiating a hefty fee to endorse a line of miracle optics. Others insist he is fine-tuning a dinner theater mime act for the off-season.

You’re cleaning your contacts and leave your glasses in the hotel, go drinking with the guys and pick up a transvestite you thought was a woman just one time and you never hear the end of it.
