dalai-140.jpgMove over, Leno and Letterman! The entertainment world abuzz with news of a new late night comedy show  hosted by the lovable duo of the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who bubble over with infectious laughter.

Said one network insider, “If we can pull in the upscale Anglicans and the overseas Tibetans, what a demographic!” Sources say the producers are searching for the right band leader to complete the package.

Earlier efforts to pair the Dalai Lama with Barack Obama, for “Drama with Lama and Obama,” have been  shelved, but for next season, look for a variety show hosted by Tibet’s number two spiritual leader, the Panchen Lama, and actress Judi Dench. The working title? “The Panchen Judi Show.”

I would think that a show with these 2 could definitely make some serious changes in the world and I would also think they would have no problem getting sponsors because this type of show would attract some people who normally do not watch that much TV. With Tivo, even busy people could tape it. I can vouch for the fact that there is a yearning for more than materialism.

I remember in the late 80s when the Dalai Lama visited Middlebury College, the student body spontaneously rose as he entered the auditorium and sang “Hello Daili”—maybe it could be used again

The Dalai Lama has a wonderful sense of humor, so it’s likely that he would find this article amusing. And so, in that light, so do I. I have to add here that I think the Dalai Lama is a true beacon of light on this planet, and that he, along with very few other wise people, has an important message that I wish everyone would hear and come to understand.

Peace,
Marla

Which Panchen is going to host the Panchen Judi show; the puppet one being paraded around by the Chinese, or the real one who hasn’t been seen since he was kidnapped by the Chinese Government when he was 6? I suppose the Chinese fake is the best choice as he’s got masses of experience in acting and performing being, as I said, already a working as a puppet (plus the real one is either rotting in jail or dead).

Beacon of Peace, Beacon of Light. Those qualities are universally recognized throughout the world. However, Beacon of the Pull My Finger gag is how the Dalai Lama made his first humble beginnings.
Bishop Tuto giggles, “I know that one.”
