It is a video ad from Epson. It is impossible to turn it off. When you pause it, it starts all over again when you proceed to the next photo! So, you get annoyed not once but ten times all over again! This happening right next to a coverage of a grim subject matter only makes things worse. Having 15 years of media planning experience, I am well aware of your need to generate income through advertising, however, I also know that this shouldn't get to the point of distracting and annoying your audience/readers so that the advertising actually starts working against the company (both Reuters and Epson in this case). How on earth any media planner or advertiser can hope to gain business by this placement?
