Blog Guy, you know quite a bit about art. So like, what determines if a painting is really valuable?
Size. You pay by the square foot. You take the famous Impressionist artist Kandinsky. A century ago he painted a scene in this Bavarian town. Recently, that painting sold for more than $4 million. So now, some folks in that town painted a gigantic copy of the painting in their town square. If the little bitty one was worth millions, the new version that you can see from the Space Station must be worth, well, a lot more.
I don’t know if that’s right. Then what determines if an artist will be successful in the first place?
Size. Your bigger artists can paint larger pictures, faster, and make more money.
Why oh why do I keep coming back to this blog? Have you ever heard of Toulouse-Lautrec? He was only five feet tall, and today his paintings sell for millions!
My point exactly. Imagine what that little fella’s stuff would be worth if he’d been the size of a real person!
