Comments on: Some haute for your goat? http://blogs.reuters.com/oddly-enough/2009/01/30/im-the-goat-to-guy-for-fashion/ News, but not the serious kind Fri, 16 Dec 2011 14:56:44 +0000 hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=4.2.5 By: em http://blogs.reuters.com/oddly-enough/2009/01/30/im-the-goat-to-guy-for-fashion/comment-page-1/#comment-368139 Mon, 02 Feb 2009 02:15:21 +0000 http://blogs.reuters.com/oddly-enough/?p=18235#comment-368139 Yes, it is strange…but many people fail to realize that these are not ready-to-wear fashions. Lines like these are meant more as inspiration for other fashion houses to draw from and develop made-to-wear, accessible, and sensible clothing.

I mean you don’t really think anyone would walk around in that, do you?

It’s a sign of things to come, but it’s meant to be interpreted, not duplicated.

But this is CARNAVAL SEASON! Time to enjoy Venice, France, South America and New Orleans!

Because I just can’t picture someone buying that outfit and walking down the street with it, the eccentricities of the fabulously wealthy not withstanding…

“Jeeves, I believe I’d like to go for a trot in the park today. In fact, if you would be so kind as to fetch me some white makeup from my wife’s toilette?”

“Madam’s makeup, sir?”

“Yes, of course, that’s what I said, isn’t it? And I’ll need you to find me a lady’s wig, ringlets, if you please. And then I think I shall need some high-heeled clogs–you know, the ones that diminish the size of one’s feet?”

“H-high heels, sir? Begging your pardon, sir, but are you feeling quite all right? Forgive me, but it seems all rather…odd.”

“I feel a call of the wild in my soul, Jeeves. I wish to commune with my kind.”

“With your kind… Er, would it not be better, sir, if I were to call a man for you here, in the privacy of your own home? Madam will not return for at least six hours, yet…”

“A man?! What the devil are you talking about? I’ve just purchased a satyr costume from John Galliano!”

“I…I see… Perhaps a… a goat, then?”

“I beg your pardon?!”

I think you might be mythtaken…
