Wax doesn’t come in different shades?

In the past I’ve often poked fun at wax museums, and I have implied that they are stupid. But now, I realize that some of them are way beyond stupid.

I’m guessing that because of Obama’s visit to Mexico City, their wax museum had to scramble and find an Obama figure at the last minute.

It looks to me as though they took a statue of that TV actor, Tony Shalhoub, and tried to turn it into Obama.

The result is just bizarre. I don’t want to sound negative, but the Mexican wax version of our country’s first black president looks, well, like a white guy!

Just compare the real Obama on the left with Waxy Barack on the right.

Anyway, I don’t wish to alarm Tony Shalhoub fans who may be planning a vacation South of the Border. Obama’s visit is over, and I’m sure “Monk” will be back in his rightful place at the museum very soon.

The face on shot looks like, well, GW, sort of.

Yeah, in some of the other wax figures of Obama you’ve been showing, the color has seemed a smidge off, but this one’s quite off. It has a superficial similarity, but the proportions are all wrong. The side view’s better than the front. But I’m waxing negative.

Wax President Obama is obviously suffering from wax-anemia causing the lack of color in his waxy face. Where are the wax secret service and wax medical doctors that are supposed to ensure the safety of our very important Wax President Obama?!

Two things:
1) Exposure of the film and the processing of the negative changes how light or dark a figure appears so the live person and simulacrum would need to be photographed side-by-side to discern tint differences.
2) It’s HOT(!) in Mexico and all the color may have run out of the face and into its T-shirt.

If you cross your eyes, you can make him kiss himself. I’m just saying.

I don’t see any resemblance to Tony Shalhoub, good thing for Tony.

What you’re saying is that you trust this “Henry Romero” guy to have taken a photo of Mexico’s Ba-Wax Obama and not Tony Shalhoub.
