News, but not the serious kind

Just drive in circles while I finish my candy bar!

June 5, 2009

This photo from yesterday, showing a presidential snack, has me baffled.

See, the president just landed in Germany on Air Force One. He gets off the plane and into his limo, and suddenly, HE’S EATING A CANDY BAR!

Hold on! They don’t have food for him on his plane? Was there a vending machine on the tarmac and he just couldn’t resist some rich chocolaty nougat goodness, or what?

“I’m sorry Mr. President, but the captain has begun his descent. Food service has ended. You’ll have to wait until you’re on the ground.”

“But I’m the President of the United States! I can SEE a fricking pile of peanutty milk chocolate bars over there!”

“I’m sorry sir, but rules are rules. If I make an exception for one person….”

Maybe he had the candy bar in his pocket, you dumb-ass. I know you’re trying to be funny, Robert Basler, but you failed.

Let the man have a snack. You don’t want him making any decisions with low blood sugar

He was probably just a little famished. I mean flying around the world, belittling the American people, and freaking everyone out about the economy takes a lot of energy. Even demigods need a snickers (TM) every now and again.

@ Rush KreshYeah, thanks Rush. You uh… you’re not much of pro in that department yourself, are you?Anyway, as regards the picture, looks to me like there’s a smokin’ Smokey Robinson tune on the radio.

If he had it in his pocket it would be melted and make a mess. Its a scientific fact, M&M’s would be a different story……….they have a thin candy shell.

What’s that you say? Eating? A candy bar? How truly odd.

I really wish that we could go back to the good old days when “Oddly Enough” was actually funny.

I see him snickering. It’s nutrageous that he gets to crunch on lunch twix’t meetings while his airhead cabinet has to make due with snacking on mounds of carob maltballs. Well, at least we’re rid of that not-so jolly rancher once and for all.

Brian,Now you went and made me laugh while drinking coffee. Now I must clean my monitor.Thank you.By the way, where IS my Snickers bar?

Looks like a Baby Ruth but the German’s have some seriously great candy. If I were president the Groundforce 1- the presidential car would be fairly well stocked. They pack it into Air Force 1 and it doesn’t fit some places he visits- like 10 Downing Street.

Perhaps they had some samples of GERMAN CHOCOLATE waiting for him in the limo? I mean, sheesh! German Chocolate is some of the best in the world!

I think you ought to get off the President’s back and let him enjoy his candy bar. You guys are so dumb and tasteless. Why not a picture of Cheney picking his nose? Or a picture of Bush scratching his ass?

Posted by Munching Man | Report as abusive

Well, Munching Man,I never saw you complaining when Bush or Cheney were being made fun of.Which Mr Basler did with an even handed stroke.Keep on painting the world as you see fit, Mr B!

I’m so confused by these comments …Why can’t we make fun of public figure these days?

Did he bring enough for everyone? Now I want a chocolate too…

Must be a slow news day. I have no problems with making fun of public figures. This, however, is so lame I can hardly manage a yawn. This is an indication that there are too many bloggers. There just simply is not enough to write about for every failed writer to make a living.

Since Mars now owns the Banfield Pet Hospital chain, maybe he is going to take it over so Bo can get free medical care. At leas it is not jelly beans.

I wonder why I am the only one who thinks that doesn’t look like a candy bar..

Was he not just in Israel and the Middle East? I’m telling you, Israel, Jordan etc.. the best candy you will ever find in the world and cheap too.Especially Arabs, they have a sweet tooth you wouldnt’ believe.

He’s eating a candy bar. Where’s the story? I don’t see why Reuters bothered with a photograph.

hey, get a life.! he obviously has one n is living it

Actually it’s a microphone. There’s a karaoke machine in the limo. He’s singin’ “I got friends in low places.”

Look at that smile. That’s the same smile my 5 year old gets when she sneaks some chocolate from the Easter Candy Stash she has hidden in a secure undisclosed location. :)

Actually, I don’t think it’s candy. He’s the President. That’s obviously a Power Bar.

Yep. President Obama is about to eat a candy bar. Ace reporting once again, Reuters. I enjoy not getting all worked up and over-excited after a long, stressful day. Keep up the mediocre work.
