News, but not the serious kind
Cool leaders with hot movie stars!
As I hope you recall, I am conducting a scientific reader poll to decide which of several world figures – U.S. President Barack Obama, Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Britain’s Prince Charles – is the Coolest Leader Dude.
It’s not like I especially care or anything, but all the other poll questions have already been taken.
So this week I’m running daily random photos of these guys, so you can make an informed decision based on sunglasses, hats and attitude and stuff.
One hard thing about being a cool leader is not being eclipsed by cool Hollywood celebs. If you can seem cool next to folks who make movies, you’re well on your way to being the Coolest Leader Dude.
So here we have our nominees alongside famous actors George Clooney, Jack Nicholson and, um, Eric Idle, who happens to be in drag. Whatever.
If you’ve aleady voted, well, vote again. I frankly don’t have any way to stop you. And feel free to share this post with large Facebooks groups, like Hannah Montana, with 490,000 fans, and the U.S. Postal Service, with its 512 fans.

I still go for Charles, although in this pic he’s laughing at the idea, suggested by Eric Idle, of putting feathers in his hats. So much for his princely character!
My money is still on Charles…the man is a veritable fountain of testosterone infused coolness. Just look at that suit!
I don’t think you guys understand how this works. Charles isn’t supposed to win. I’ve said too much already.
I was leaning towards Vlad, but Prince Charles has now taken the lead by a fair margin
Oh no, no, no! This is terrible how this is going!
why yes, Charles just seems so oddly compelling here.
Charles is the one of the left, correct? I’ll vote for anyone who is willing to dress in drag to meet a good impersonator of himself. So chalk another vote up for the Charles on the left… or whatever.
Two things:a) Robert, I can’t hold it in any longer. I love you and the way you effortlessly make fun of the world. There. It’s been said.b) Come on people, look at Obama in this picture with George Clooney. Is that expression saying ‘Yeah, I’ve got it’ or what?
Definitely CHARLES!!!!
Prince Charles doesn’t need any look saying, “Yeah, I’ve got it,” because his “having it” goes without question. In fact, Eric Idle is thanking Charles as it was his very “it” that inspired Monty Python to document the shenanigans of men in skirts and elaborately feathered hats, thus spreading unequivocal joy throughout the world.Somebody get this man a Nobel Peace Prize!
The thing nobody has pointed out is the curiously strange look Vlad is giving Jack Nicholson… I would bet Putin’s seriously considering coming out of the closet, so he can confess his long-standing crush on “Johnny”!!
You simply can’t beat a Savile Row bespoke suit. Charles is it, without a doubt. And, his highness is carbon neutral, even with his LearJet!
Definitely Charles.Vlad is close, though.
Chuck wins for posing with someone who hasn’t be cast in a Batman movie.yet.
Dear,Mr.RobertsFirst congratulations to you.You have taken all lively, well judged photos for polling from its users.Generally saying,as an individual, humanist, avid reader, writer etc.etc,on account of some personal, intelligence, knowledge gatherings from this world famous news provider to many media networks,my best selection goes to Charles.Second goes to Russian Prime Minister with actor Jack Nicholson.
