Okay, I’m big enough to admit when I was wrong.
I’ve devoted several items recently to a wild conspiracy theory about a nefarious plot by prominent people who wear white hats to secretly identify themselves to each other.
Readers pointed out photos of everybody from Brad Pitt and the Dalai Lama to Madonna and boxer Jake “Raging Bull” LaMotta, and I poked fun at their theories.
Needless to say, that was before I saw a video clip on our own reuters.com of actress Salma Hayek in Cairo, spouting absolute gibberish about taking her kid to the Pyramids and crap like that.
The piece is so totally devoid of news value that it could ONLY have been filed for the conspiracy, to share a coded message from Hayek in her white hat.
Of course, since this clip was posted by one of my own colleagues, now would be the point in any slasher movie where I would learn that the call came from inside the house.
So now that I have no idea who I can trust, I’m going underground. I’ll blog from an undisclosed location and watch my back. Come to think of it, that’s not much of a change for me.

Mmmmm, Salma. Now why couldn’t you have found pictures of her at Oktoberfest? I sure would like to see her, uh, holding a mug of beer. Or two.
So, it is true.. I think I will have to up my dose now… cant trust anyone these days…
Blog Guy,I used to trust you for a media content totally void of news but, after reading this, I’ll have to follow Salma Hayek instead.I want my meds back, please.
No use asking Bob for the meds, CAM.. I am sure he donated them to the white hat conspiracy… Or maybe Bob is having them himself…
Am I the only one mesmerized by the shadow puppet bunny behind her?
CAM, I think Robert is either on the meds, hence he’s hogging them for himself and doesn’t want to share, or he actually IS a member of the White Hat conspiracy and has been trying to put us off for ages now…Clever trick, Robert, but I think it won’t work. We readers are just too smart for that…On that note, I guess I’ll go back to my own meds; the voices inside my head are telling me to go out and buy a white hat!
My theory was that the Dalai Lama was the leader of the white hat conspiracy, but after seeing these photos it is clear. Salma Hayek is the leader and this is her way of communicating with the rest of her conspirators.
Also, her eyebrows scare me.
