All the cute you need….

March 21, 2010

Blog Guy, I’ve had a very draining week, and I need something to cheer me up.

I hear  you. I’ve had kind of an emotional roller coaster ride myself this week.

cute lion cub combo 490

Wow, Blog Guy. Yes, I imagine humor blogging is a gut-wrenching, high-pressure profession. How do you keep your sanity when the going gets rough?

Well, I wouldn’t say I ever actually keep my sanity. Let’s not go overboard here.

GERMANYBut I can tell you that when I need to lift my spirits I go to our photo archive and treat myself to a little animal therapy. Like this dog helping to raise a newborn lion cub.

That’s very sweet. I’m feeling a little better already. What else?

Look at this four-day-old elephant. You just have to smile at the little fellow.

Hey, just who ARE you? You’re not that smart-ass Blog Guy who usually works here!

I am indeed. It’s still me. Don’t worry, tomorrow I’ll be sarcastic again. Trust me.

But for today, you should just enjoy the photos and share them with your friends. And if  you don’t have any friends who would enjoy seeing these precious creatures, well then, you’re hanging out with the wrong crowd.

The lion / dog thing is wrong. The elephant though, I’ll grant you. I wan scientists to genetically re-engineer wooly mammoths. They’d be really cute. Especially if they could miniaturise them so they stay about knee high.

The dog has a look like “How did THIS happen?”

But the elephant – gah! I’ll let you know when I wake up from the sugar coma.

I’m leaving tomorrow for a week in Puerto Rico. YAY! The house is ready; the live-in house/critter sitter is coming. I finished replacing the doors to a room off the garage that I’m remodeling. I just put the locks on the new doors, and the doors are closed and locked (for safety).

Perhaps, I’ll tell the sitter: “Do not set foot in the room off the garage. You can go into any room in the house but that one, not the r o o m o f f t h e g a r a g e….”

Good grief!! And I thought we were all so highly medicated this feel-good post wouldn’t wreak havoc… goes to show how much I know, with my high bi-daily dose!

That would be a phenomenon to get us back to reality, wouldnt it, Mr.Pilot!
Though its sad to know about the mother… dont mind me… I am in a pensive mood….

Just because it’s far away doesn’t mean it’s small.
Just because it’s small doesn’t mean it’s cute.
Or is that, just because it’s cute doesn’t mean it’s small.
Just because I’m paranoid, doesn’t mean they’re not all out to get me.
That’s mine you can’t have it.
Arrghh, get it off me, get it off me, get it off me!

Dogs are ok, lion cubs are adorable (especially when they make that little growly noise but you don’t get that in a photo), elephants…er…I’m sure it’ll be cute after a sparkly…I mean sprinkled doughnut.

Not that I’m complaining Baz, definitely a nice way to start a Monday morning.

But I need to ask…got any kitten photos to share?

:D

That dog it thinking “When this lion cub grows up, despite all I am doing to take care of it, it’s going to eat me…..FML”

Don’t know why the unforgettable story of the encounter between Pumbaa, Timon and Simba comes to my mind with that first picture…

Hankuna matata!

Posted by justM | Report as abusive

Hakuna Matata, M!!! Oh, how I want to see that movie again….
Though looking at the second pic, I do have to agree with Mr.Pilot… The dog looks scared… and I love dogs…

Posted by Shra | Report as abusive

Shra, even puppy lions have sharp teeth, so you ca sort of understand why the dog looks the way it does!

Is that the OE equivalent of, “Shut up and eat your sticky cake,” Unca?

Posted by knit_nurse | Report as abusive

That does it. Soon as I get paid I’m gonna buy me a copy of the Lion King. I bet Etcetera will love it!

Speaking of His Royal Cuteness, he fell asleep during Monsters Inc last night. Awwwwwwwww.

The Great Spliff in the Sky huh? and here I was thinking all those white billowy things floating around were clouds.

Sometimes being wrong ain’t suhbad.

Posted by iflydaplanes | Report as abusive

Knitty, you forget the “There, there dear” on the start of that. How is your sticky cake ?

Posted by CrowGirl | Report as abusive

Do bath buns count as sticky cake? I need some kibbled sugar.

Posted by knit_nurse | Report as abusive

Next time I fly I will have to leave the window open in the plane, get a little second hand buzz action going on from all the spliffy clouds!

Posted by iflydaplanes | Report as abusive

All this talk about food…… very soon… I am gonna buy myself a lemon pie…. and eat all of it… ALONE!!

Posted by Shra | Report as abusive

Aww Unca, I remember the commercial with the bull dog marching along to ‘Kibbels and bits and bits and bits’. Now there’s a walk down memory lane!!

:D

Zooming around with jet-packs in the spliffy clouds….

All I can do is… dreeeeeeeeeeeeam…. dream dream dream…
Dunno if anyone knows this song by Everly Brothers? They were one of my favourite bands, growing up….

Posted by Shra | Report as abusive
