Top 100 reasons I’m not on the list…

May 7, 2010

time combo top this one 490

Blog Guy, have you seen the Time Magazine list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World? I’m surprised you’re not on it, you know, what with your blog, your Goofy Face Museum and Doughnut Shop, your radio talk show, your tap-dance video….

time cover 240Don’t EVEN get me started on that! It turns out I was number 101!

Golly. To come SO close!

Tell me about it. I got the famous Time Magazine Consolation Letter:

“Dear Bob, we regret there wasn’t room for you on our Top 100 List because we had to include such household names as Dominique Strauss-KahnRecep Tayyip Erdogan, Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan and Sandra Bullock.”

The consolation letter goes on to say they will bump me up to actually being on the list if one of the other people does something really awful and is de-listed in shame and disgrace.

So I guess it’s possible I could still make it. I’m talking to YOU, Lady Gaga!

“Become the 102 most influential person, join the Oddly Enough blog network!”

According to the Bible, God took a rib from Adam and created Eve.

In the music world, someone took a rib from Marilyn Manson and created Lady Gaga.

I can’t believe you forgot to mention Didier Drogba! Blog Guy, if you would only learn to kick a soccer ball really well…

Yeah, I almost made it this year, but they said I didn’t do anything noteworthy.
Funny, my boss said pretty much the same thing on my annual evaluation…except that he left off the word ‘noteworthy’.

Obviously, you do have that picture of Sandra Bullock in your museum, right?

And, to be honest, although I share your pain and frustration, I wouldn’t want to be listed in any publication that states Lady Gaga as being influential…

I’ve been reading this blog for quite some time and really I can’t help but notice how unfair those people are … or maybe it is just jealousy … yeah, that must be it …

Has anyone read the full list?
It’s like they mashed a list of the top 50 most influential people with the top 50 list of people most like to cure your insomnia.
I leave it you to determine who may have been on which original list.
